Sodexo is seeking a Accounting Analyst for InReach who will work with the Director of Accounting and other team members to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the monthly financials.

This role is a hybrid role; 3 days in office and 2 remote in located either Austin TX or Buffalo NY.

This Accounting Analyst will:

  • Establish and maintain accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organizations assets.
  • Provide guidance to department staff.
  • Support or lead department on cross-functional initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation and escalation issues.
  • Be a specialist in this area of accounting function.

We are looking for candidates who will be able to:

  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations in accordance to GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate various financial close cycle activities.
  • Analyze operating and financial statement information and prepare reporting for Senior Leadership.
  • Perform variance analysis to determine root cause, make recommendations for improvement of performance or operating efficiencies.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPI) and associated metrics over a specified time period, and compare against acceptable norms, past performance or targets.
  • Recommend action to improve performance or operating efficiencies (process improvement).
  • Lead special accounting projects including analysis and testing of new systems
  • Analyze KPIs and communicates analysis/insights to leadership. Where applicable, incumbent will execute/implement agreed decisions.
  • Assist with issue resolution to reduce exposure and ensure compliance.
  • Provide support for various internal and external audits and recommend corrective actions or mitigating controls.

Preferred Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred in Accounting, Finance or Management
  • Travel as required (minimal)
  • 3-4 years related accounting experience

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
