Role Overview


Sodexo is seeking an Accounting Analyst for the Segment Support, InReach in the Financial Shared Service office in Cheektowaga, NY. We need a natural problem-solver, who thrives on challenges. Who enjoys a high energy, fast paced environment.


Incentives


This role will work a hybrid schedule averaging three days in the office and two days from home plus ten work From anywhere days, in the U.S. only, provided annually. This is on top of vacation, holidays and personal days. The office offers a modern, collaborative environment with free parking and on-site full-service cafeteria.

What You'll Do


  • Prepare financial statements, journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations in accordance to GAAP, IFRS, and other regulatory requirements. Ensures timely resolution of issues.
  • Coordinate various financial close cycle activities.
  • Analyze operating and financial statement information and prepare reporting for Senior Leadership.
  • Perform variance analysis to determine root cause, make recommendations for improvement of performance or operating efficiencies.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPI) and associated metrics over a specified time period, and compare against acceptable norms, past performance or targets.
  • Recommend action to improve performance or operating efficiencies (process improvement).
  • Analyze KPIs and communicate analysis/insights to leadership. Where applicable, incumbent will execute/implement agreed decisions.
  • Oversee and participate in various accounting and billing programs/projects that are of a mix of moderately complex and highly complex in nature
  • Train and guide accountants on company policy, procedure, processes and systems, problem resolution techniques and effective communication

What You Bring


  • Knowledge of accounting policies and controls, fiscal controls, preparing financial reports and safeguarding the organizations assets
  • Guidance to department staff
  • Experience with cross-functional initiatives
  • 2-4 years related accounting experience
  • Preferred Bachelor's degree
