Location: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to be based at the San Diego Convention Center, with additional responsibilities supporting the San Diego Theaters.

Principal Function:

The Accounting Manager will play a key role in maximizing Sodexo Live!'s revenue and operational excellence at the San Diego Convention Center and San Diego Theaters by implementing and overseeing systems and policies related to accounting operations. Reporting to the Unit Controller and both unit General Managers, this position provides leadership and direction to the Accounting department staff and serves as a strategic partner across departments.

The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with the Payroll and HR departments-or directly perform related duties-as well as manage responsibilities tied to accounts payable and receivable, tax and compliance, and financial analysis and reporting. Additionally, this role will work alongside the operations team and other department heads to ensure the unit's financial performance aligns with Sodexo Live!'s standards for accuracy, efficiency, and quality.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting.
  • Previous Accounting experience within a food and beverage or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Exceptional computer literacy with advance-level EXCEL and Microsoft Office Suite software; Previous experience with Lawson accounting a software a plus; Experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, to include Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong ability to analyze financial data and prepare ad-hoc financial reports, statements and projections as needed.

Other Requirements:

  • Able to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly quartered environment.

Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
