Sodexo is seeking an Area Operations Manager to oversee area operations throughout the NYC Health + Hospitals system in Brooklyn, NY.

NYC Health + Hospitals is the largest municipal health care system in the US. They provide essential inpatient, outpatient, and home-based services to more than one million New Yorkers every year in more than 70 locations across the city’s five boroughs.

In this Area Operations Manager role, you will manage a team of 3-4 managers and function as the in-unit leader, providing support of food operations, leading performance improvement initiatives, patient experience, developing plans, and having conversations with the client to identify areas of opportunity as they relate to food and clinical operations. Previous food/clinical management experience in hospital preferred. Registered Dietitian strongly preferred.

This role will also help support and grow the NYC H+H plant-based initiatives and be responsible for approximately 5 accounts within the system.

The successful candidate will:

  • provide strategic leadership to the respective units within the system to maintain client satisfaction and retention
  • monitor day to day operations by planned and unplanned visits to each operating account of the system
  • plan projects, implement new processes, client interactions, and new technology to ensure sufficient resources
  • develop business plan and budget w/each account manager that supports the System and District goals; review and analyze financial statements to ensure attainment of financial goals for both the client and Sodexo
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships
  • ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and Sodexo / System Client(s) policies and procedures

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 5 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of experience in operations
