Sodexo is seeking an experienced Catering Manager 3 for Grambling State University located in Grambling, LA. This unique university combines the academic strengths of a major university with the benefits of a small college, a combination that enables our students to grow and learn in a serene and positive environment. We offer more than forty (40) undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs through four colleges, including two professional schools and a graduate school. The position will report directly to the GM or designated #2. The position is a hands on position that requires nights and weekends. Position also manages boxes at sports arenas on campus. This position requires that you meet with all the clients and build up an excellent relationship with the campus community. Our Catering Manager will directly supervise anywhere from 1 - 10 events at a time and will need to have a flexible schedule as events may be days, nights, weekends and some holidays. This position also requires that you hire and train a professional catering staff, utilizing the community and students on campus. The Catering Manager will also need to help out as needed in other areas of the account including concessions, summer dining, and retail locations. Catering services include 40% high level catering.
This would be a great opportunity for someone with multiple years of Catering experience. If you have experience at all service levels from coffee services, served meals, drop-offs to Presidential events and everything in between, this would be a great opportunity for you. Proven ability to plan, coordinate, setup and execute high profile specialty events numerous times during the year is key to success at this account. Organizational and planning skills as well as experience overseeing events are areas where the candidates need to have a proven track record and can speak to this experience in detail. Maintaining a keen interest of food, trends, and unique presentations as well as a desire to establish new looks, tastes and flavors in this operation will also aid in the success of the account.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.
Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
