Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager 3 for University of Nebraska Omaha located in Omaha, Nebraska. UNO is located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska. The city itself has truly become a part of the UNO campus. This Catering Manager will manage all the Catering needs of the Campus and grow catering/banquet sales.

The Catering Manager assists in the management of all catered events. Works with clients/customers to arrange and follow through on all catering details and to ensure all special requests are met. Directs setup for events, and actively hands on for all event needs, from campus meetings, large campus banquets, weddings, client VIP dinners, summer sports camps and conferences.

Is this the opportunity you are seeking? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • at least 3-5 years management experience in Catering/Banquet/Event planning and execution;
  • ability to coordinate catering initiatives to drive sales growth and track results;
  • oversight of the sales process for catering and/or conference services. Works with client and customers to design events;
  • contribute to account revenue and catering sales through the implementation of services and the creation of growth opportunities;
  • plan projects, including defining objectives, methods, timetables, and budget to support client and Sodexo's strategic plan;
  • oversee all event planning, set up/breakdown, billing/invoicing, coordination of all events, scheduling and training catering staff.
  • establish and maintain a safe work environment including both food and physical safety to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards in various environments. Drives the zero-harm mindset.
  • supervises employees by delegating, assigning, and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
