Sodexo is seeking a Catering Manager at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.

Training

  • responsible for overseeing the catering operation including transportation across campus, equipment, logistics, and vehicle fleet.
  • use of Event Master - event management system - for scheduling purposes
  • Kronos – Catering Payroll System includes inputting schedules and time clock edits
  • Oversee catering schedule for the entire department
  • Continue growing employee training program with advanced server training, begin training for cashiers, utility, and chef

Weekly

  • Oversee Supervisors responsible for equipment organization, and cleaning checklist, ensure Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Safety checklists are complete and staff is continually following all safety and sanitation policies.
  • Walk around all catering areas ensuring safety and sanitation practices are being followed

Monthly

  • Department Meetings
  • Oversee the completion of weekly huddles, safety, customer service, and ambassador programs Choose catering events to attend to review service standards and customer satisfaction
  • Ensure Transportation Truck Inspection Logs Complete, Truck maintenance, registration, etc. up to date
  • Attend facilities meetings as needed

Other

  • Assist Concessions for events when needed
  • Assist in the coordination of delivers around campus for all units
  • Update driver responsibility binder for NSF Audits –done each August before the new school year starts
  • Answer questions for Transportation with Pull Sheet questions, updates, etc., and equipment pulling
  • Treats staff with respect and common courtesy.
  • Assume responsibility for handling guest-related issues during or following an event.
  • Oversees on a daily or weekly basis to ensure standards are met including Uniforms, Pest Control, HACCP, and NSF.
  • Assist in reporting weekly financials

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
