Job Description
Sodexo 's Universities segment has an exciting Catering Manager 3/Special Event Planner opportunity available at our long tenured account at Western Illinois University located in Macomb, IL. Reporting to the General Manager, position will oversee up to 20 associates.

Key Responsibilities:
- The Special Event Manager will plan the details of all events at this premier location
- High interaction with clients prior to and day of event
You are/have:
- A sharp eye for attention to details
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating floor plans/diagrams, assisting with inquiries
- Ability to manage, train, mentor and inspire a solid catering team, including scheduling
- An expert in client/guest relations- this position will have direct client contact
- Experience in executing catering and special events including many high end, fine dining banquets & weddings
- Excellent event planning skills, and is visionary in regards to presentations and creativity
- Ability to perform in high stress atmosphere
- Demonstrated knowledge of catering logistics, casual and fine dining, and banquet management
- Other duties include, but are not limited to: internal billing, creating floor plans, assisting with inquiries, and implementation if events from set up's to tear down
- Computer proficient
- Willingness to drive a large box delivery truck, preferred!
A flexible schedule is needed due to the need of being available weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
