Sodexo's Independent School Services Division is seeking a high energy, client-centered Catering Manager 3 to lead our catering/event planning partnership with Lake Forest Academy a long-tenured, premier client located in Lake Forest, IL. The Catering Manager will manage full cycle catering and support front of house operations.

Catering Manager will manage all catered and special events. The position is responsible for managing the daily catering operation including ordering catering food, client catering meetings, writing catering menus, client billing and controlling labor costs. Successful wedding catering involves attention to detail, flexibility, and a focus on creating a memorable experience for the couple and their guests.

We are looking for candidates who can:

  • identify internal/external customer needs and expectations;
  • the ability to handle catering at all levels from coffee drops, luncheons and weddings.
  • ensure that Sodexo and customer goals are aligned and met;
  • educate and develop rapport with internal/external customers and promote partnerships;
  • promote a customer/client centered culture that strives to exceed customer and client needs; and
  • detailed oriented, with attention to trends and creativity.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Solid organizational skills
  • wedding catering experience.
  • Excellent leadership/team building skills
  • The ability to handle catering at all levels from students to executives
  • Candidate must have the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, specifically supervising both catering and front of the house operations

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
