Location: We are seeking Catering Operations Supervisor to join the Sodexo Live! team at the Hollywood Bowl located in Los Angeles, CA. This position will be supporting The Hollywood Bowl, The Ford Amphitheater and LA Music Center.
Job Overview:
Essential Responsibilities
- Execute events according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and coordinate with the Catering Sales Supervisor to ensure all event specifications are clearly understood and properly executed.
- Oversee event setup by confirming china, glassware, linens, and equipment are prepared according to BEO requirements.
- Conduct pre-event walkthroughs to ensure all event spaces are clean, organized, and ready for service.
- Supervise banquet servers by ensuring proper uniform standards, grooming, and readiness for service while providing training, delegating responsibilities, and directing service flow throughout the event.
- Maintain consistent communication with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor staff during events, manage meal breaks, and ensure proper timekeeping procedures are followed.
- Enforce food safety and sanitation standards and ensure responsible alcohol service throughout all dining areas.
- Respond to guest requests and promptly address any service concerns to maintain a positive guest experience.
- Coordinate the proper handling, storage, or disposal of leftover event food in accordance with company procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years supervisory experience in a food service environment preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and effectively implement written and verbal instructions.
- Strong team orientation and ability to work with a variety of departments to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Ability to work well in a high stress, fast paced environment.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, to include addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used by guests who typically visit the work location.
- Technology aptitude for working with automated inventory system.
- Scheduling flexibility to meet operational needs. Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.
Other Requirements
- Ability to work effectively and safely in environments with wet floors, temperature fluctuations, and elevated noise levels
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver in tight or crowded spaces
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as operationally required
