We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Kitchen Manager / Chef Manager to join our dynamic culinary team at the Columbia Lutheran Home in Seattle, WA. Located in the vibrant city of Seattle, CLH is a trusted and welcoming senior living community that has been serving the local community for many years. Nestled in a scenic neighborhood, our community offers a peaceful and serene environment for our residents to thrive and enjoy their golden years.

As the Chef Manager, you will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our patrons. Your exceptional culinary skills, creativity, and leadership abilities will be instrumental in ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation are consistently met. This is a great position for a senior line cook or supervisor to move into!

Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while ensuring adherence to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.

- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and smooth operations.

- Collaborate with the executive chef and sous chef to develop innovative and enticing menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet customer preferences.

- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness.

- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

- Foster a positive and professional work atmosphere, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.

- Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques, and share knowledge and expertise with the team to promote continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality establishment.

- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.

- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.

- Exceptional creativity, with the ability to develop unique and appealing dishes.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide excellent customer service.

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Key Duties

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
