Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford located in Palo Alto, California. Nationally ranked and internationally recognized, our 361-bed hospital is devoted entirely to pediatrics and obstetrics. This position will be focused on creating a unique and guest-centered culinary experience for each of our patients.

The successful candidate will:

  • implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospital;
  • be responsible for Food and Physical Safety and annual training for all hourly associates;
  • Procurement: Work with vendors on procurement items. Responsible for purchasing manager and purchasing financial audits;
  • implement innovative and fresh ideas in retail, catering and patient services; and/or
  • create interpersonal relationships with clients in hospital.

  • a strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends;
  • strong management skills and previous experience working in a high-volume facility;
  • a strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, inventory and labor management concepts;
  • the ability to successfully lead, develop and train a team;
  • proficient computer skills as well as exceptional organizational and customer services skills;
  • Servsafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.

Position Summary

Responsible for the day to day execution of the menus & culinary deliverables. May be responsible for smaller units within a multi-location.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
