Sodexo is seeking a Chef Manager for their Yale New Haven Hospital, York Street Campus in New Haven, CT. The Chef Manager at this location will oversee front and back-of-house operations and reports to the Retail Operations Manager. This role will oversee approximately 10 union, front-line staff.

Prior Healthcare Culinary and 1199 union background preferred.

This position is client focused - lots of C-suite traffic through cafe'. Looking for high-end menu selections. Responsibilities will include retail menu and promotion development, cash handling and driving retail sales. Must be customer service and quality focused.

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of daily food operations and deliver a high-quality product;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline union staff;
  • leading inservices, hiring & disciplinary, scheduling and some time keeping functions.
  • be responsible for all HACCP procedures and ensure regulatory guidelines are being followed.
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met to include compliance with company food and physical safety programs.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
