Job Description
Sodexo is seeking a Kitchen Manager / Chef Manager for our prestigious client, Congregation of Holy Cross Fatima, in Notre Dame, IN. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned, entrepreneurial manager who is constantly seeking a better way to conduct business. This key leadership position is directly responsible for the successful operation of dining services.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating, while ensuring adherence to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and smooth operations.
- Collaborate with the executive chef and sous chef to develop innovative and enticing menus that reflect current culinary trends and meet customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain proper storage and rotation of food items to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Foster a positive and professional work atmosphere, promoting teamwork, open communication, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and new cooking techniques, and share knowledge and expertise with the team to promote continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality establishment.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, flavor profiles, and food presentation.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Exceptional creativity, with the ability to develop unique and appealing dishes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and provide excellent customer service.
