Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian for an outpatient position at the Parkside Dialysis Center at University Hospital at Downstate in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to educate and support patients who are receiving hemodialysis.
No weekends!
Start with 3 weeks’ vacation and 3 personal days
Reimbursement for AND dues, state licensure fees and CDR renewal
Money toward continuing education events
Up to $5000 tuition reimbursement annually
Reporting to the Clinical Nutrition Manager, the successful candidate will:
- provide exceptional nutrition care to patients receiving Hemodialysis;
- work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members/departments;
- track and report nutrition related data to the interdisciplinary team on a monthly basis;
- participate in additional quality improvement projects as assigned;
- engage with the Flatbush community via participation in community events; and
- function as a preceptor in support of the dietetic internship program.
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
- Registered Dietitian credentials and CDN in New York;
- renal or inpatient/acute care experience (preferred);
- proficiency in Haitian Creole and/or Spanish (preferred);
- Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) or Board Certification as a Specialist in Renal Nutrition (CSR) (preferred);
- excellent interpersonal communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups;
- strong verbal and written communication skills; and
- the ability to work with minimal oversight in collaboration with physicians, nursing and ancillary staff.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement:
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
Credentials Requirement:
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
