Sodexo seeks a Dietitian Nutritionist to provide nutrition care at Highsmith Rainey-Specialty Hospital. This position will have inpatient responsibilities at Highsmith Rainey, which is a 66-bed long-term acute care hospital that specializes in the treatment of critically ill and medically complex patients that require extensive clinical management. Patients range in age from 18 to 95 and have an expected length of stay of 25 days or longer. Typical diagnoses include multi-system organ failure, end-stage renal disease, COPD, wound infections, osteomyelitis, complications of diabetes, pneumonia, and respiratory failure.
The Dietitian will report to the System Clinical Nutrition Manager and will:
- Maintain responsibility for comprehensive nutrition assessments/reassessments and counseling of general and complex patients and their families per the Nutrition Care Process model.
- Actively participate in daily multidisciplinary rounding with care team members.
- Provide education to patients, as well as staff, and work well with physicians, pharmacists, nursing, occupational and speech therapists, and other ancillary staff.
- Be involved in quality improvement and research projects as opportunities arise.
- Serve as a preceptor for dietetic interns, as needed.
- Provide coverage for other inpatient dietitians on weekends, holidays, and as assigned.
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a Registered Dietitian with at least 3 years of experience; including nutrition support.
- Have strong leadership skills, time management, and organizational skills
- Possess the ability to creatively problem solve, work independently with minimal supervision, and make decisions while working within a self-directed and team-oriented work environment
- Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact with a wide variety of individuals and groups
- Have North Carolina State licensure.

Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement:
Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24:
Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
Credentials Requirement:
Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire. In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice. In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
Minimum Functional Experience - 3 years experienced practitioner able to work with minimal supervision
