Sodexo is seeking an Environmental Services/Custodial Operations Manager 3, for the University at Buffalo in New York. Our successful candidate will have an executive presence to manage C-Suite level client relationship building and the ability to travel to multiple campuses. Expert level computer skills to manage software like Shop Blue, Maximo, iCIMS, KRONOS and demonstrated history of success with frontline Job Posting Interviewing, Onboarding and employee retention are mission critical to success in the role.

This is a large urban University has 195 buildings, Our manager will lead up to 7 Sodexo Managers and 100+ frontline client union employees. Our Sodexo Custodial Service teams work to direct custodial operations at 3 University locations. These teams have the responsibility of driving client satisfaction by providing Quality Control through our SMS systems, also providing effective communication with all levels of University Faculty and staff.

The Successful candidate will:

  • Support a diverse and inclusive workforce
  • Be responsible for driving client satisfaction through effective inspections and quality control, proving a contractual APPA 2 Level

  • Are proficient with computers and other technology
  • Have demonstrated history directing daily operations at several locations to ensure employees have appropriate equipment and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines
  • Supervise day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning, and prioritizing activities and monitoring APPA standards
  • Possess strong leadership skills and can work independently to drive program compliance and reach project target dates of completion
  • Can establish a safe work environment for employees by providing safety-related training and equipment maintenance and by ensuring compliance with Sodexo safety and loss prevention programs
  • Manage the budget by controlling costs including. labor, inventory, equipment, materials and complying with budget requirement and adjusting when necessary
  • Can analyze data, present and effectively communicate to all levels within the University related to training, leading committees and change management
  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements, and communicates them to direct reports and frontline staff

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 3 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years of work experience in Housekeeping, Environmental or Custodial Services
