Sodexo is seeking an energetic, self-motivated culinarian leader to join the team as an Executive Chef 1 for Del Sol Medical Center located in El Paso, TX. Del Sol Medical Center is the only full-service, acute care hospital in East El Paso offering 350-beds with a Level II Trauma designation.

The Executive Chef will provide culinary leadership through menu planning and program execution while maintaining kitchen operations, enhance the patient dining experience through culinary creativity, and food presentation. The successful candidate will:

  • help implement and standardize all culinary systems and procedures for hospital;
  • supervise, develop, and mentor frontline staff;

  • help create interpersonal relationships with clients.

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • an Associate's degree in Culinary Arts (strongly preferred);
  • a strong culinary background in a high-volume environment;
  • strong leadership skills and experience;
  • menu planning experience and a strong understanding of current culinary trends;
  • proficient computer skills, highly organized, and detail-focused.

Position Summary

Provides culinary leadership within a small sized unit including menu planning, program execution and staff management & training. Works directly with internal and external clients managing the catering process from beginning through execution
Key Duties
-Executes the culinary function
-Customer & Client satisfaction
-Manages food & physical safety program.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
