Sodexo is currently seeking an Executive Chef 1 to join our culinary team at Carroll Lutheran Village, a large, upscale continuing care retirement community located in Westminster, Maryland. Dining operations include 2 cafes, 2 restaurants, 1 pub for independent living residents; a skilled care dining room and an assisted living dining room along with catering.
The Executive Chef 1 will be hands on with cooking. Will report to the Executive Chef 3 and manage a staff of approximately 8 employees. Will assist with ordering and inventory. Typical shift will be 10:00am - 7:00pm, may vary with every other weekend coverage. We are open to chefs with senior living and/or restaurant/country club backgrounds. - have a strong food production background
- have a strong culinary knowledge and knowledge of safety and sanitation
- have catering experience
- large volume experience
- are able to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo.
- demonstrate experience supervising a culinary team and exceptional human resource and supervisory/management skillset.
- have exceptional professional communication skills.
- possess a hands-on, innovative leadership approach to management.
- have a passion for a high-level customer service and relationship oriented.
- are able to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines.
- have the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- have strong financial acumen and experience managing a food service operations budget.
- are knowledgeable in compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
