Sodexo at Texas A&M University Commerce is seeking an Executive Chef 1
*Relocation is available.*
The successful candidate will be passionate, systems oriented, will provide innovative catering menu and presentation ideas, work directly with high-profile clients, and will lead, train and grow a team of culinarians. This chef will work a later shift, starting at 10am.
Daily operational duties include oversight of ordering, inventory, forecasting and planning, physical and food safety, scheduling, custom menu design, team engagement and inspiration. Texas A&M Commerce is a long standing partnership and is a key location in Commerce, Texas hosting many receptions, galas and day to day catering events, with a range of diverse audiences and services. Our successful candidate will execute client expectations through the team's performance of excellent service and manage the staff from an operations efficiency standpoint to Sodexo's standards. This role will manage 60% hands on cooking and training, and 40% of time on administrative tasks. A demonstrated history of strong organizational skills are critical to success in the role. High energy and the ability to adapt to a lot of different diverse thought processes will help our candidate lead the team and provide an excellent experience for our students, faculty and guests.
The successful candidate will:
- Manage 60% hands on cooking and training, and 40% of time on administrative tasks
- Develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations and mentor top performance in customer service
- Ensure food safety, sanitation and Sodexo's workplace safety standard compliance in sanitation
- Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
- Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
- Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
