Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for East Tennessee State University located in Johnson City, Tennessee. The Executive Chef 2 will be highly visible to students, staff, and clients and must possess the skills to manage a large residential dining kitchen, support catering events, and monitor quality assurance within the culinary standards.

Ideal candidate will display creativity with food, mastery of food safety concepts, demonstrate quality assurance, and have an ability to motivate and support a large team. Will manage a large kitchen supporting an all you care to eat, multi-station, continuous dining cafeteria. Handle customer requests and ensure the guest experience is best in class.

Financial responsibilities include menu management, product purchasing, production tracking, and inventory control. Safety programs and standards, success of compliance of all daily retail food service operations. Relocation assistance available.

The successful candidate will:

  • lead back of house production and kitchen forward team members
  • train and manage department HACCP Safety Programs, Sodexo programs and daily operation standards.
  • exhibit flexibility and manage multiple priorities.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
