Sodexo is seeking a Facilities Operations Manager for a high-profile Corporate Headquarters account in Piscataway, NJ. This site is one of Sodexo’s prestigious international accounts, which also serves as a showcase account. This Operations Manager will be responsible for managing multiple services of an Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) model including maintenance, boilers, plumbing, HVAC, all mechanical trades, projects and operations of the infrastructure on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct preventative, proactive & reactive maintenance repair issues using skilled trades; mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and critical systems
  • Oversee and manage renovations and/or constructions projects
  • Management of CMMS work order system
  • Monitor flow and quality of work to assure timely completion of workload and adherence to facility’s standards and regulations
  • Manage vendor contracts and relationships
  • Prepare and manage departmental budgets, records and reports
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory and governing agencies
  • Monitor employee work performance and prepare evaluations for assigned personnel
  • Establish a safe work environment for employees by performing safety audits and inspections, conducting safety-related training, and maintaining on-going communications with employee

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience; Mechanical or Engineering Degree's preferred
  • Exceptional customer service skills, relationship building skills and outstanding communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on managing building operations and maintenance
  • A proven track record of successful Facilities Management experience as demonstrated by articulated results and accomplishments
  • Technical knowledge of the following: Maintenance, Troubleshooting, HVAC, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Building Automation Systems, Project Management, Computerized Maintenance Management System Work Scheduling and Vendor & Contract management
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen
  • Critical Thinking Skills and great decision making skills; and
  • Knowledge of Maximo and other BAS systems knowledge (a plus)

What We Offer

Position Summary

Responsible for a single scope of work in hard services area. 3rd in command
Supervises the account as the #2 manager and has full responsibility including supervision of other managers. Responsible for entire account when the Director of Facilities Ops is not present. In Univ. same as above as well as size and scope is less than an Ops 2;

Key Duties
- Manage one other manager; typically in account with smaller volume and FTE count; Manage by walking around; Staffs, trains, and is responsible for employee development

- Technical client interface

- Payroll and time mgmt. of frontline staff

- Oversees and coordinates projects

- Manages work orders/CMMS

- Manages mechanicals (i.e. HVAC)

- Manages financials

- Responsible for client relations/engagement

- Manages QA and Safety


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in facilities maintenance, plant operations or engineering services
