Sodexo Senior Living is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 for our dining operations at Garden Spot Village, a large upscale continuing care retirement community located in New Holland, Pennsylvania. Garden Spot Village is situated in beautiful Lancaster County which was named one of the top 10 places to retire in the U.S.! This is a showcase account with high attention to details in retail and innovation in food.

This Food Operations Manager will manage the East Kitchen, which primarily services the healthcare residents. Knowledge of special diets and a dietary manager certification (CDM) is desired. The Operations Manager will lead a team consisting of one chef manager and approximately 35 frontline staff members. Garden Spot Village thrives on person centered care and we encourage all potential candidates to familiarize themselves by viewing the Garden Spot Experience on Typical shift will alternate, 7:00am - 4:30pm or 9:00am - 6:30pm, may vary with rotating weekends and holidays.

The successful candidate will:

  • oversee daily kitchen operations serving approximately 220 meals per meal period, three meals per day;
  • place orders;
  • train and schedule staff;
  • evaluate and develop service levels for the overall resident meal service program targeted to exceed resident and customer satisfaction;
  • collaborate with clinical, food service and interdisciplinary teams to enhance the resident experience;
  • ensure food quality and presentation;
  • exceed Sodexo standards for Gold Checks and achieve successful regulatory inspections and audits; and
  • perform management functions that include direct supervision of hourly associates including employee development, scheduling of staff.

  • has two or more years prior food service management experience, ideally in a healthcare environment;
  • a dietary manager certification (CDM) is helpful;

  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
