Sodexo Universities Sports & Leisure is seeking a Food Operations Manager 1 to manage the overall operations for the student athletes at Kansas State University located in Manhattan, KS. This is a highly visible position at a flagship account within Sodexo Universities. The Food Operations Manager will work together with our onsite management team to develop each aspect of our operation. Sodexo and KSU are committed to meeting the nutritional needs of our athletes. Our operational team works together to execute up to 700 events from concessions to catering to athletic dining hall, and more!

Duties include but are not limited to:

Recruiting, Hiring, Training, and Scheduling Staff

Working with client to plan and execute events

Maintaining Service logs (temperature, spoilage, check-in, etc.)

Systems Implementation

Cost Controls/Inventory/Ordering

Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Reporting

Conducting Performance Reviews

This position will also be responsible for adhering to NCAA rules regarding guidelines of service and will assist in ensuring the flow of service in the dining room is smooth and orderly. Position may require the service of meals catered to other athletic locations as needed. At times may be asked to assist in any area in the unit including receiving, food prep, or sanitation. Duties will require financial reporting responsibilities.

The successful candidate will be highly organized with the ability to manage in a fast-paced environment.

Experience managing, scheduling, and hiring a team.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
