Sodexo Senior Living has an immediate opening for a Food Operations Manager at Canterbury-on-the-Lake in Waterford, MI. This beautiful senior lifeplan community is situated on over 40 acres of lush, landscaped grounds with walking trails and a gorgeous lakeside pavilion. Residents enjoy an active lifestyle with a wide-range of amenities, along with comprehensive health and wellness services.

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day dining operations for the Independent Living residents;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • interface closely and daily with residents;
  • provides stellar customer service;
  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline staff.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • food production experience in either a senior living or healthcare setting;
  • a certified dietary manager (CDM) certificate or the willingness to obtain within 1st year of employment preferred;
  • hands on skills with inventory management and ordering;
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to train and develop employees;
  • working knowledge of HACCP protocols for regulatory compliance;
  • the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and exhibit a passion for a high-level of customer service.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
