Sodexo Campus Segment has a great opportunity for you as a Food Operations Manager 3 at Southern Connecticut State University located in New Haven, Connecticut. Sodexo Dining Services partners with SCSU to operate a comprehensive dining program which includes a resident dining location, popular retail food platforms, catering, summer conference business and more.

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations;
  • Assumes General Manager’s (GM) responsibilities and authority in their absence
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • develop strategic plans;
  • Provides supervision for food services at account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the company.
  • Implements business practices in order to uphold company mission, values and commitments made in the Sodexo client contractual agreement.
  • create a positive environment; and/or
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met.
  • Union experience is highly preferred.

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and/or
  • demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management System (FMS) The Market Connection (TMC) and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience. This does not apply to external candidates.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 3 years

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
