Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Production Manager 2 for Lexington School District Two located in West Columbia, SC. The Food Production Manager 2 will be responsible for inventory management and procurement of food and supplies at an account/unit to ensure client satisfaction and retention for the Company. Manages food production through kitchen staff in a medium facility. Contributes to account revenue and operating profit contribution through cost containment and safety.
Key Duties:
- Utilizes Sodexo resources, recipes, systems and programs to direct daily operations including; food production, inventory, product deliveries, invoices, and procurement operations.
- Ensures employees have appropriate equipment, supplies and resources to perform their job, and meet goals, cost controls and deadlines as assigned.
- Establishes and maintains a safe work environment including both food and physical safety in order to comply with all regulatory and Sodexo standards.
- Complies with budget requirements by controlling costs (i.e. labor, inventory, equipment, materials) and making adjustments when necessary.
- Supervises employees by delegating, assigning and prioritizing activities, and monitoring operating standards.
Management / Field Support
- Café Manager Support/Training – support Café Managers by assisting in basic managerial task as needed; customer service, workflow, safety training and audits, managing food cost, training on ordering, inventory control, reducing waste, alternative feeding models, boosting adult participation & ala carte sales, employee constructive counseling, etc.
- Field support – would need to have a basic working knowledge of all roles and responsibilities of Food Supervisor and Food Service Workers. Assist as needed in schools, could mean filing in at a school if we are short staffed.
Menu Support
- Assist with Menu Planning – customize menus based on student surveys, uploading and distributing menus on-line, provide monthly menu signage for each school, provide nutrient analysis to school nurses.
- Primero Edge - supporting managers in using PrimeroEdge. Assist, as needed, with training and completing, pre and post-production.
Culinary & Student Engagement
- Culinary support - training kitchen team in culinary skills, best way to use equipment, cooking with spices, presentation, etc.
- Student activities- taste tasting, cooking demos/display cooking, grilling, nutrition education, food trailer, student nutrition committee meetings, surveys, etc.
- Marketing- assist with marketing, one day fun day events, special events, conducting execution standard audits, etc.
- Catering - assist with Catering's as needed. May include some nights/ very, very rarely weekends.
Staff and Community Outreach
- Employee retention- assist with planning and execution of employee touch points - Sodexo experience, safety incentives, recognition programs, employee touch points throughout the school year Ex. welcome back goody bags, Valentine’s candy, pie at Thanksgiving, etc. (this is a team effort)
- Community Outreach- maybe joining local community groups, participate in Chili Cookoff, CAYCE - West Columbia holiday parade, etc. to widen our community presence (maybe 2-3 events per year)

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
