Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 2 for McGregor, a continuing care retirement community situated on a picturesque 45-acre estate, overlooking downtown Cleveland near Cleveland Heights in Cleveland, Ohio. The Food Service Manager will oversee the kitchen operations for this community and enjoy training and mentoring cooks.  A culinary background with knowledge of special diets is plus.  This is a great opportunity to grow your food service knowledge at this facility and grow your career with Sodexo.  This position offers a great schedule with typical shift being 8:00am - 4:00pm, may vary with every other weekend coverage.

What You'll Do

  • have oversight of daily food service operations for approximately 170 skilled care and assisted living residents (dining room service, tray service, and small bistro);
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
  • develop and maintain strong client and customer relationships;
  • create a positive environment; and
  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

What You Bring

  • culinary experience with knowledge of special diets;
  • prior institutional food service experience in corrections, schools, hospitals or senior living;
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implements company policies;
  • strong management skills;
  • catering experience;
  • a strong understanding of forecasting, food cost management, purchasing, inventory;
  • the ability to successfully lead, develop and train a team;
  • proficient computer skills as well as exceptional organizational skills;
  • ServSafe certified as well as working knowledge of HACCP and experience with Health and Safety audits.
