Sodexo is seeking a Food Service Manager 3 for National Life Group Cafe in Montpelier, VT. Corporate account with retail, catering and vending opportunities. Manage of staff of 11 people serving Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks M-F in the retail cafeteria. Utilizes mobile technology to reduce lines and create loyalty among the employees. Person must have high level of customer services skills to positively engage with employees and client customers. Has oversight of on premise catering events which include small group breakfasts and lunches to large functions for dinner and employee events. Works with the General Manager to create menus, order food and complete labor scheduling for both retail and catering. Supervises front of the house staff ensuring an excellent guest experience is being delivered. Communicates with clients directly on catering events and execution.

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations;
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • provide employee training and development;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • have the ability and willingness to motivate, coach, mentor and develop frontline (hourly paid staff);
  • oversee ordering and inventory controls;
  • assist with catering functions;
  • oversee safety;
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 2 years
Basic Functional Experience – 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
