Sodexo Corporate Services is looking for a General Manager - Food to join our team at Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. Dana Farber Cancer Institute since its founding in 1947, has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow's cures through cutting-edge research. This account is a Management fee account with a MV of 7million. There are 4 points of service at this account; 1 main cafe, 2 satellite locations within walking distance, and catering operations with a MV of 6 million.

The General Manager - Food will function as a hands-on manager with responsibility for purchasing, and employee scheduling/training/coaching.

We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of growing revenue and increasing customer satisfaction scores. The ability to think creatively and implement fresh ideas to increase sales is imperative. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a retail business dining location that offers a high-quality culinary program.

This position offers a Monday - Friday work schedule!

The General Manager - Food will oversee the day to day retail operation of the corporate cafe and coffee shop. Other duties include but not limited to:

  • Overseeing the menus and updating the POS system
  • Ordering
  • Inventory
  • menu planning

  • Simply to go program

  • Cafe special events, theme days, signage and decoration

  • Manage the catering program - start to finish

  • Safety and Sanitation
  • Use automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems (FMS, Retail Ranger and Cater Trax).
  • Leading and developing a team up to 10 hourly employees

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 5 years

Basic Functional Experience - 5 years
