Sodexo currently has an opening for a General Manager 5 to lead the culinary operations for a high-profile cafe within a government services account located at the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) in Springfield, VA . This position will report directly to the District Manager and will provide leadership and development to 30 Sodexo front-line (hourly-paid) culinary employees. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced General Manager to provide high-end service to our high-end cafe and catering operations. Candidates should be passionate, highly motivated, and enjoy client and customer interaction. The ability to offer strategic leadership and vision are a must for this growing operation!

Position contingent on obtaining a security clearance from the United States government based on a federal background investigation. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

The successful candidate will:

• Integrate fully within our NGA organization becoming a trusted adviser with a customer service focus
• Work to achieve company and client financial targets and objectives
• Ensure compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace health & safety standards
• Must meet (or exceed) Sodexo and government standards of operations
• Create a positive environment and successfully motivate and manage team.
• Have oversight of day-to day operations
• Have strong contract management/compliance experience
• Develop and maintain client and customer relations
• Develop strategic plans to grow program and patronage
• Create a positive and enjoyable environment for guests

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.
Provides local leadership and strategic direction while developing team for new and emerging business solutions that sustain growth in the day to day operations.
