Sodexo Government Services is looking for a General Manager 5 to join our team at a secure government agency in Northern VA! This is a location with a union of 45 - 50 team members and a 6 person management team. This location has a total annual volume of $6 Million and offers a variety of services to include traditional cafes, Sodexo branded concepts, and national brands to include Starbucks, Subway, Dunkin McAlister's Deli, and Moes Grill. Candidates should be passionate, highly motivated, and enjoy client and customer interaction. The ability to offer strategic leadership and vision are a must for this growing operation!

The ideal candidate will have to be an US citizen and be able to successfully complete a federal background check.

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of daily food operations and deliver a high-quality product;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals to include oversight of cash-handling and the POS system;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • motivate, coach, mentor and develop front-line (hourly) staff; and/or
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met to include compliance with company food and physical safety programs.

Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:

  • experience in all aspects of restaurant or cafeteria operations, customer service, cash handling, HR responsibilities, financial reporting, marketing and promotions;
  • detailed experience and knowledge of the culinary process; to include inventory control, ordering, recipe compliance HACCP and the ability of ensuring food quality at the highest level. Must also be able to forecast sales and maintain the production process;
  • a high level of financial acumen. Must understand food cost, labor controls, middle of the page expenses with an expert level of P & L knowledge;
  • the ability to manage standards/systems in a café / retail operation. The ability to hold employees accountable and the ability to create an engaged productive work force; and
  • previous retail operations experience and a passion for providing quality food options to enhance and elevate the dining experience.
