Sodexo is seeking a General Manager 6 - Food for University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.

We are seeking a highly passionate, experienced, organized, and disciplined individual with a strong commitment to food operations to join our team as a General Manager 6 - Food Operations. The General Manager 6 will lead a team of 28 skilled managers and 270 hourly staff members in the day to day operations of the food and nutrition services department. Our General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the department including patient dining, retail café operations, national brands, and catering services. Coupled with prior management level experience in a hospital environment, our ideal candidate will be a customer focused, innovative leader with exceptional financial acumen as well as demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships and meet financial objectives. Candidates should have prior experience working with a diverse team and demonstrated success building a positive work culture ultimately driving employee engagement.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working with unit financials and budgets, HR functions, payroll, strategic planning, special projects, marketing, training, cash management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance, and direct client interaction. We are looking for a leader to raise the bar for patient satisfaction, retail satisfaction and customer service standards with experience in room service style patient meal delivery. Project management, cost containment and monitoring, management team development, food management controls, staffing engagement and development with a focus on accountability and service will be a top priority.

The ideal candidate:

  • has a work history demonstrating strong leadership skills, as well as previous management experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • has patient satisfaction experience and a strong background in driving patient satisfaction scores
  • has the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • have oversight of day-to-day operations
  • deliver high quality food service
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships
  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • is passionate about driving collaboration within a large group of managers and employees
  • can comfortably hold others accountable when needed, and action plan to improve operations
  • can demonstrate working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS), Health Touch, and Market Connections (MSC), and is proficient in computer skills and report management experience
