Sodexo Corporate Services is looking for an General Manger / Chef Manager to join our team in Iowa City, Iowa. Our food operation consists of one cafe which includes cafe services, catering and coffee services. In addition to a strong culinary background, this position requires strong organizational skills, ability to lead a team and give directions.

You will lead the food production team members in managing our culinary operations in daily production of cafe and catering services. You will be responsible for ensuring purchasing and inventory compliance as well as managing food cost and production planning. Duties include:

  • Managing the daily food production including planning and controls
  • Ensuring Sodexo Culinary Standards including recipe compliance and food quality
  • Labor and food cost control
  • Menu planning
  • Inventory Management
  • Food Waste management
  • Coaching, training and development of the culinary staff

Position Summary

Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit. Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records. Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract. Senior-most person assigned to a one client account

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years
