Sodexo is seeking a General Manager for our client, Covenant Living at Mount Miguel, in Spring Valley, CA. As the GM you will be responsible for all aspects of the following (including but not limited to) Operational Budgets (Sodexo & Client) and high quality client and stakeholder communications. Holding yourself and others accountable for quality assurance inspections, all regulatory compliance, staff training, payroll, scheduling, rounding, patient / customer satisfaction, and leading the Food and Nutrition Department.

This position requires a current CDM qualification.

The successful candidate will oversee a total staff of up to 30 employees. Additional responsibilities will include strategic planning, training and development of hourly and management team that is adapting to Covid. Establishing and maintaining a positive Client relationship and a highly impactful employee engagement standard will facilitate excellent outcomes. The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day dining and culinary operations;
  • control and ensure company and client financial targets and goals are achieved;
  • ensure that the highest possible standards of food handling and preparation are achieved;
  • provide technical training and expertise, coaching and leadership to the production team while working side by side in the operation as needed.

  • have a passion for a high level customer service and culinary arts, with a strong culinary production background, ideally in a healthcare or retail setting;
  • have a current CDM
  • are able to develop trust and build strong client relationships while meeting the expectation of the client as well as Sodexo;
  • have demonstrated experience managing a culinary team and exceptional human resource skillset;
  • are hands-on, and have an innovative leadership approach to management;
  • are able to work independently and make sound business decisions within company guidelines;
  • have the ability to manage multiple priorities;
  • possess strong financial acumen and experience managing a food service operations budget;
  • are experts in compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards.
