Sodexo Senior Living is seeking an Executive Dining Room Manager 2 for its operations at Asbury Solomon's Island, a waterfront retirement community located in Solomon's, Maryland. The Executive Dining Room manager will be responsible for service of the main independent living dining room serving lunch and dinner. Will also oversee a pub, C-store and limited catering. Typical shift will be 10:30am - 7:00pm, may vary, with every other weekend coverage. Will manage a staff of approximately 15 hourly employees, and we also offer a $2,500 Sign On Bonus.

Are you the experienced food service manager we’re seeking?

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • have a strong focus on food quality and presentation as well as residential and retail dining operations experience,

  • be responsible for scheduling of staff, managing labor costs,
  • have superior interpersonal skills and have the ability to develop and maintain professional, positive working relationships with multiple clients, liaisons, customers, employees, supervisors and vendors,

  • have strong communication skills and will be able to articulate ideas, thoughts, opinions, professionally and clearly within all levels of client and Sodexo's organizations,

  • have strong time management skills and will be able to juggle multiple priorities

  • continuously evaluates service to ensure resident and client satisfaction,

  • integrate fully within our client's organization and be a trusted advisor with a customer service focus,

  • create a positive environment; and

  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • one or more years previous food service management experience ideally in retirement, fine dining or hotel dining;
  • strong hospitality skills;
  • ability to train and motivate staff;
  • a work history demonstrating strong leadership and hospitality skills and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • the ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • knowledge of compliance to food safety, sanitation, and overall workplace safety standards;
  • the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • strong computer skills and report management experience.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent

Basic Management Experience - 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
