Sodexo is seeking an innovative Resident District Manager (Sr Food Service General Manager) for a potential new client in University Dining in the greater Detroit metro area. This is an opportunity to leverage your experience to take the next step in your career.

We are seeking an experienced Campus Dining General Manager with strong strategic leadership, financial acumen, talent management, and strong communication and project management skills. This candidate will need to be able to work both horizontally and vertically within both organizations and have outstanding presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage the workload accordingly. Works with clients and regional leadership in all matters relating to contract and account operations to establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship that ensures account growth and account retention.

  • have a proven track record of Food Service General Management in a high volume, high profile University dining operation - bringing Innovation and Solutioning to daily operations;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed;
  • have a work history demonstrating strong Client and Employee Engagement leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively; and
  • demonstrate strong Financial Acumen with a working knowledge of financial management software, food management systems, Kronos or similar time management programs. Working knowledge of Sodexo systems including The Market Connection (TMC) or other purchasing platforms, Financial Software including E=Vision and possesses proficient computer skills and report management experience;

The successful candidate will:

  • have oversight of day-to-day operations;
  • achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • develop strategic plans;
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • create a positive environment; and/or
  • ensure Sodexo standards are met.

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service;
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and/or
  • demonstrate working knowledge of DRIVE or other food management systems, Kronos or similar time management programs, The Market Connection (TMC) or other purchasing platforms, Financial Software including E=Vision and possesses proficient computer skills and report management experience.
