Sodexo is seeking a Retail Chef Manager for Virginia Hospital Center. VHC Health’s Main Hospital in Arlington, Virginia, is an independent, 453-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital.
The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background.
The Retail Chef Manager responsibilities will be but not limited to:
- Afternoon and evening retail operation support-for our Starbucks, Subway, and main cafeteria. Inclusive of monitoring productivity of the staff and day to day operations, cleanup activities in the evening, cash outs, and resetting for the next day.
- Help monitoring closing procedure of the entire department with evening patient services manager.
- Assist chef with discussions on catering with catering customers.
- Help catering supervisor with evening or busy catering days with set up and execution of catered events.
We a looking for candidates with:
- Culinary background to assist with high end catering food prep when needed.
- The skills to support procurement activities.
- Starbucks or Subway experience.
The successful candidate will:
- successfully coordinate all required tasks through subordinate managers, supervisors and frontline staff;
- deliver high quality food services including retail, catering and patient meal management operations;
- achieve company and client financial targets and goals;
- develop and maintain client and customer relationships (i.e., comfortable in c-suite settings where communication skills are imperative when serving as top level site management)
- develop strategic plans;
- ensure HACCP, regulatory and standards compliance;
- have daily interaction with patients, their families and clinical team to ensure patient satisfaction;
- create a positive environment; and/or
- ensure Sodexo standards are met.

Qualifications & Requirements
Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
Basic Management Experience - 1 year
