What You’ll Do: As a Security Officer at Sodexo, you are responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling premises, monitoring alarm systems and video surveillance, and responding promptly to incidents. This role ensures the protection of assets, personnel, tenants and guests while supporting client requirements. Security staff maintain a high-visibility presence and take immediate action to report incidents or contact emergency services as needed. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Guard’s property against damage, fire, theft, and illegal or unauthorized entry.
- May check purses, pockets, and bags for suspicious items; prevent passage of prohibited articles into restricted areas; Remove weapons and stow away for later retrieval.
- Makes periodic rounds about buildings and grounds (interior and exterior), examining doors, windows, and gates to ensure that they are properly secured.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Provide detailed shift reports, clearly explaining any on-going issues or problems so that next shift is fully aware.
- Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
- Significant walking or other means of mobility.
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time, throughout the entire duration of a shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
- Attends work and shows for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
- Other duties may be assigned and can differ among accounts, depending on business necessities and client requirements.
What You Bring:
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 0 to 2 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of security procedures.
- Private security or public police experience preferred.
- Valid state driver/operator's license (commercial) may be required.
