Sodexo is seeking a Soft Services Lead to support a rapidly growing, fully integrated facilities management Life Sciences account located in Rahway, New Jersey!

Soft Services Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing non-technical or "soft" facilities management services within an organization. These services often include aspects related to the day-to-day operations and comfort of the facility, such as custodial services, landscaping, pest control, security, and snow removal.

You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient delivery of soft services to meet the needs of the organization and its occupants. This role involves coordinating various service providers, managing budgets, implementing policies and procedures, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and comfort within the facility. The Soft Services Lead also plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders and Clients, including staff, tenants, contractors, and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day running of on-site Soft Services in respect to Grounds, Housekeeping, Landscaping, Pest Control and Snow Removal services
  • Measure soft services team performance and implement solutions to increase staff productivity.
  • Design soft services scope and manage all facilities tasks including schedules and daily routines (times and methods)
  • Supervise soft services consumables consumption, cleaning chemical, and supplies to implement best practices and savings.
  • Monitor activities and measures effectiveness of security services, providing basic coordination of internal security personnel.
  • Maintain indoors plants and outdoor areas, gardens, landscaping in exceptional conditions. This may involve production and monitoring of yearly plans and corrective action as required.
  • Implement inspections and audits programs, focus on Quality Assurance and Quality Control to ensure a safe and comfortable workplace.
  • Implement Sodexo programs and global standards to ensure comfort, cleanliness, and well-being of customers.
  • Support technology implementation, suggest and recommend new ways of working and equipment to increase staff productivity and performance.
  • Capture customer feedback, track improvements and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

Experience and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in facilities management, business administration, hospitality, or a related field.
  • 5+ years + exposure in Facilities Management role, with a focus on soft services management, preferably in a life science environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders and lead a team.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Smartsheets and facilities management software applications.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours and respond to emergencies or urgent issues as needed.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental sustainability practices, and risk management principles relevant to soft services operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and achieve financial targets while maintaining service quality.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with customers and manage their expectations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent in Spanish is strongly preferred.

The salary range for this position is $115k-125k

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
Basic Management Experience - 5 years
Basic Functional Experience - 3 years work experience in facilities (e.g., maintenance, plant operations, engineering services, grounds, custodial/environmental, or transportation) or food (e.g., food services or operations, concessions, retail sales, store operations, or vending) services
