Sodexo is seeking a Sous Chef for McGregor, a 200 resident continuing care retirement community, located in Cleveland, Ohio. This full-time temporary role expected to last 6 months with the possibility of becoming a permanent role. This Sous Chef will cook daily, mainly lunch and dinner meal with typical shift being 10:00am -6:00pm may vary with every other weekend coverage. Will report to the Executive Chef and supervise 3 cooks.

Are you the experienced sous chef we’re seeking?

We are looking for candidates who will:

  • have oversight of food production;
  • be hands-on, will cook daily (80%);
  • will train and mentor cooks;
  • deliver high quality food service;
  • develop and maintain client and customer relationships;
  • create a positive environment; and
  • ensure Sodexo Standards are met.

The ideal candidate:

  • has previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively;
  • has food production experience with a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance;
  • can demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed; and
  • is proficient in computer skills.

While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate's specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.


Position Summary

Leads food preparation at one station of a foodservice operation (i.e., salads, soups). May supervise less than two full time employees.


Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
